Education
Alexis Harris earned her Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine Caruso School of Law and her Master’s in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine University’s top-ranked Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution. Ms. Harris earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Employment History
Ms. Harris has experience in dispute resolution focusing on helping parties resolve conflicts outside of the court system. In 2017, Ms. Harris interned at the United Nations Ombudsman and Mediation Services where she assisted in communication and outreach activities, and helped to develop training in areas of diversity, conflict resolution, and consensus building.
Prior to working at the United Nations, Ms. Harris worked as a clinical extern in Pepperdine Caruso School of Law’s Mediation Clinic where she mediated various types of cases, including landlord/tenant, employment, and merchant/consumer cases. She also served as a Peer Mediation Coordinator in the fast-paced Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Civic Mediation Project where she managed and resolved youth conflicts through mediation and other dispute resolution procedures, and developed and facilitated the training of adolescents interested in the mediation process.
Additionally, Ms. Harris worked as a clinical extern in Pepperdine Caruso School of Law’s Restoration and Justice Clinic providing pro bono legal services in a variety of civil and criminal matters, including, but not limited to, family law, domestic violence, and criminal case advocacy.
In 2009, Ms. Harris worked as a public relations and marketing intern for Viacom, Incorporated where she drafted press releases for television show premieres and organized large-scale media events.
Ms. Harris joined EXTTI in 2019.
